About Me
My name is Alice Marsden and I qualified as a Podiatrist in July 2016, graduating from the University of Salford with a BSc (Hons) Podiatry (2:1). Podiatry degrees usually consist of three years of academic and practical learning in England, but I opted for the part-time route, taking 4.5 years, because my daughter was 9 months old when I enrolled on the course.
After 5.5 years working as an employed and self-employed Podiatrist for other practices, I decided to start Step Up Podiatry in January 2022, offering clinics in Longridge and Whalley.
All Podiatrists are required to undertake continual professional development (CPD) to keep up to date with policies and procedures professionally. In addition to this, I have undertaken additional training, with particular attention to Biomechanics and Musculoskeletal Podiatry. Where nail and skin problems can be visible to the naked eye, it can be more of a challenge to correctly assess, identify, diagnose and treat, problems within the foot. Despite this challenge, the reward of reducing or resolving someone's pain, makes it all worthwhile.
